Residents say Hillsboro Shores is the place to be

By Abdiela Sanz (Pompano Times, 01/25/2001)

Hillsboro Shores, a community in Pompano Beach, is a quiet, hidden area not known by many, but those that live in the area couldn't he happier.
"This is a nice neighborhood," said David Williams, a resident of Hillsboro Shores and a father of two young children. "It is a perfect place to raise a family"
Williams says the area is quiet community sandwiched between the Intracoastal Waterway and the ocean.
Hillsboro Shores is from the Hillsboro Inlet to Marine Dr. and east to the ocean and west of Intracoastal, according to Jan Park, a real estate agent and resident of the area. The community has 268 homes, most of which are multifamily homes with a few condos.

"I love the area," she said. "I've been here 26 years and I don't plan on ever moving."
The homes in Hillsboro Shores are all different, Park said. No planned layout exists for the area, but each home has special uniqueness.
The area has great diversity she added. There are less elderly people in the area now and more families moving in. The occupational fields in the area also vary from doctors to entrepreneurs.
"I've researched the area thoroughly" said Brian Mills, a resident of Sunrise hoping to move within the year: "The area is quiet in the evenings, which is good when you have a 2 month-old baby And the crime statistics in the area make a family smile.
The crime in Hillsboro Shores is minimal, not to say that it doesn’t happen. There hasn’t been any serious crime in the area, such as murders and rapes. According to Park, crimes in the area are limited to minor burglaries.  “This is the safest place to live," she added. “Neighbors look out for each other and anything out of the ordinary.”
For those who love the beach, the area has a private beach access between 2300 and 2208 Bay Drive.  The area, which is well lit, is filled with picnic tables and BBQs, everything needed for a good time.

“I hate that I have to leave the area," Williams said. “If my house had three rooms instead of two, I would never think of leaving this place.”
The atmosphere is like no other he added. With all the diversity and uniqueness in the area a family felt community always exists. Return
